Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Emery announced that he will continue to coach Villarreal through an announcement on his personal website.
In his announcement, Emery mentioned that he had turned down an offer from a huge saloon, which, as previously reported, was Newcastle, who have just been bought by a Saudi consortium.
Emery wrote: No matter how heated the media coverage was yesterday in another country, transparency and loyalty were upheld within the salon, by the Roig family and by my players, and that is the most important thing for me. Villarreal is my home and I work 100% on it.
I'm grateful for the love of a huge salon, but I'm even more grateful to stay here, I've talked to the president and I want to continue to be part of the salon's project because of the promise I feel from the salon and the respect I feel from the players, it's mutual and it's mutually beneficial.
As previously reported, Newcastle contacted Emery on Friday, stating that they would be willing to pay the liquidated damages of Emery's contract at Yellow Submarine (€6 million), together with a salary increase for Emery.
