Officials reported that AFC President Salman met with the
Thailand
Ms. Ng Lun Pan, President of the Football Association, expressed her appreciation for the progress made by Thai soccer.
Salman said, "The Thai Football Association has demonstrated in every aspect the values of unity and solidarity that have become synonymous with Asian soccer over the years."
"The Football Association of Thailand has always responded positively to this call by hosting many major AFC events and world-class tournaments. On behalf of the Asian soccer family, I would like to reiterate my sincere gratitude to the Thai FA and the Thai soccer community for their unwavering support and demonstrated organizational excellence in soccer."
Salman also praised the achievements of Thai soccer, mentioning the Thai men's national team's advancement to the round of 16 at the Asian Cup in Qatar, the Thai futsal team's advancement to the finals of the 2024 Asian Cup of Futsal, and qualification for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
He also praised Ms. Wulunpan's proactive approach and efforts to strengthen the tournament's operations since her election as CEO of the Thai league. He said that the AFC will always be available to all member associations in a concerted effort to raise the standard of the game in Asia.
