Munich's approach in selecting a coach. He said that Bayern has been a good client for Leipzig, but now Leipzig no longer has a coach like Nagelsmann to offer to Bayern.
Mintzlaff also joked, "Apart from Nagelsmann, Bayern have always been a good client for us, but even if they were to shell out another 25 million euros now, we wouldn't have anything to offer them."
On the decision to move Nagelsmann to Bayern in the first place, Mintzlaff said, "I had hoped to keep him. With Nagelsmann at the helm, Leipzig could also have become Bundesliga champions. At the time when we signed Nagelsmann with Hoffenheim, we refused to set a release clause, which Nagelsmann accepted. But he also said, 'If Bayern call, I hope we can at least talk to each other.'"
