exist
Manchester United Football Club
s career is over and he will be looking for a new club this summer.
Martial, 28, has been plagued by injuries this season and has only made 19 appearances for Manchester United, scoring two goals and contributing one assist. Martial has also continued to fail to make the French national team due to poor form and injury problems. He was last called up for an international day in October 2021, while his last appearance for France was on September 7, 2021 against Finland.
In the summer window of 2015, Manchester United signed Martial from Monaco for a transfer fee of €60 million. In the same year, Martial also won the European Golden Boy Award, showing great potential.
According to The Times, Martial's transfer to Manchester United included a floating clause of over €20 million, as follows:
If the player scores 25 goals for Manchester United, United will pay a further transfer fee of €10 million. If the player makes at least 25 appearances for the French national team, United will also pay an additional transfer fee (the exact amount is not disclosed). If the player is nominated for the Ballon d'Or, United will pay a further €10 million.
Currently, the first two additional clauses are activated, but the third one, related to the Golden Globe, has not yet been honored.
Due to injuries and poor form, Martial's future may not be at Manchester United and he will be looking for a new club this summer. There is still a chance for the player, who had high hopes, to find his best form in a new environment in the future.
