Hummels said, "The idea that two Champions League finals in my career would be between German teams doesn't appeal to me. Speaking about reaching the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund in 2013, Hummels recalled, "We had a lot of success at Dortmund at that time, so reaching the final was taken for granted at the time."
