In a recent friendly match, Italy defeated Ecuador by a score of 2-0. During the match, Pellegrini gave Italy the lead just three minutes into the match, while Barella scored a goal late in the game to seal the win.

The match started with Italy getting into the swing of things quickly. In the 3rd minute, Italy had a chance to take a set piece in front of the goal. Di Marco's penalty kick was blocked by the opposing defenders, but Pellegrini quickly followed up, and he fired a shot from outside the penalty area, which flew straight into the goal like a cannonball, and the Ecuadorian goalkeeper, despite his quick reaction, was unable to stop the ball from going into the net. Italy leads 1-0.

After that, Ecuador tried to strengthen their offense, but under the tight defense of the Italian team, their offense did not get many chances. In the 9th minute, Ecuador's cross from the right side was cleared by Italy, but Caicedo's long-distance shot went wide of the goal. At the end of the first half, Italy went into the break with a one-goal advantage.

In the second half, Italy continued to keep control of the game. In the 45th minute, Pellegrini once again showed his offensive ability by picking out a cross in the box and Raspadoli's header, but unfortunately the ball was tipped over the line by the Ecuadorian goalkeeper. Despite Italy's repeated attempts to increase the score, Ecuador's defense was quite tenacious and they managed to hold off Italy's attack.

However, in the final stages of the match, Italy found a chance to break through. In the 90th +4th minute, Orsolini sent a sublime direct pass to Barella, who followed up the one-touch opportunity with a cool pick of the net to add another goal for Italy. In the end, Italy beat Ecuador 2-0.
