On May 16th, Getafe hosted Atletico Madrid in the 36th round of the Spanish First Division. The match was of great significance for both sides, and Griezmann's outstanding performance was the highlight of the match.

At the beginning of the game, both sides showed a strong desire to attack. However, as the game progressed, Atletico Madrid gradually took the initiative on the field. In the 26th minute, De Paul sent a precise long pass, Griezmann stopped the ball in the penalty area and calmly pushed the shot, breaking the deadlock on the field and taking the lead for Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid was not satisfied after the goal, and they continued to strengthen their attack. In the 42nd minute, De Paul sent another great pass to Griezmann, who blasted a shot from a small angle to extend the score. Despite the referee's subsequent offside call, the goal was validated by VAR, leaving Getafe 0-2 down.

Into the second half, Getafe tried to step up their attack, but Atletico Madrid's defense was very solid. In the 50th minute, Lino cut inside the top of the left arc and then straight into the penalty area, Griezmann once again pushed the goal from a small angle, completing the hat trick. At this point, Getafe was already 0-3 down and the game was basically out of doubt.

In the course of the game, Getafe also created some chances, but whether it was Greenwood's shot that was confiscated by Oblak, or Greenwood's follow up shot that bounced off the crossbar after Atletico's ball was cut out of the back of the field, they were unable to capitalize on their chances. In the second half, Getafe's chances from set-pieces in the middle of the pitch were also not converted into goals.

In the end, the match ended with Getafe losing 0-3 to Atletico Madrid.
