The third game of the matchup was ushered in. In the previous two matches, Liaoning won all of them and took the absolute initiative. In this game, Liaoning once again showed strong strength and took a 3-0 lead over Xinjiang to win the match point.
The game started with Xinjiang taking the lead with a 7-0 opening run on a Jones three-pointer. Liaoning started the game in a passive position, failing to score for nearly three minutes. However, Xinjiang failed to capitalize on this advantage and instead Liaoning quickly adjusted to catch up. Late in the first quarter, Zhao Jiwei and Fogg hit back-to-back three-pointers, leading the team on a 21-6 run across the quarter to overtake and take a double-digit lead.
In the first half of the game, Liaoning's Zhao Jiwei had an outstanding performance with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, while Fogg contributed 17 points. The hot play of the two helped the team establish a 13-point lead at the end of the half.
Xinjiang started the second half with a 6-0 start to try to rally, while Liaoning was in a slump during this period, scoring only five points in close to seven minutes. Xinjiang seized the opportunity and delivered a 19-6 run to open the final quarter and managed to overtake the score.
As the game entered the final decisive moment, Fogg once again stepped up with a key rebound three points, followed by consecutive key defensive finishes and pulling away through free throws to finally kill the game. In the end, Liaoning beat Xinjiang 94-88 to win the game point and lead Xinjiang 3-0 on the total score.
