Zhejiang defeated Meizhou Hakka 2:1 on the road in a match in the 3rd round of the 2024 Chinese Super League.
The match started with a fierce confrontation between the two sides. However, Meizhou Hakka didn't get discouraged and they actively searched for goal-scoring chances in the following game. In the 50th minute, Chen Zhechao sent a precise pass from the left side of the field, and Rooney followed up with a one-touch chance, carrying off Lucas' defense and then calmly firing a low shot into the far corner of the net, Meizhou Hakka equalized the score, 1:1.
In the second half, the two sides continued to battle. In the 74th minute, Zhejiang Yue Xin sent a long pass over the top, Liang Nuoheng followed up with a header, and the ball bounced out of the reverse angle into the net. Although the referee raised his flag to indicate offside, VAR intervened and determined that the goal was valid, and Zhejiang regained the lead with 2:1.
