Liverpool (England)
It is official that Arne
Slaughter
will be the team's new head coach. According to Paul Joyce of the Daily Telegraph, one of Slaughter's key tasks when he takes over will be to help Darwin Nunez and the rest of the players activate their talent.
Slaughter's mission and goals:
Activate Nunez
Núñez has made 54 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 18 goals and contributing 13 assists, including 11 goals and 8 assists in 36 Premier League appearances. Despite high expectations when he joined the club, Nunez's lack of finishing ability cost him the team's trust. However, he remains determined to prove himself at Liverpool.
Helping other players improve
: Liverpool, for their part, believe Sloter has shown an ability to help players progress during his time at Feyenoord and Alkmaar, and expect him to continue to do so at Liverpool.
Slaughter's coaching style:
Boosting Striker Confidence
: Sloter had helped Santiago Jimenez make significant progress during his time at Feyenoord, who scored 49 goals in 86 games.
Using Video Analytics
: Slaughter is adept at helping players understand and improve their technique and decision-making by taking video timeouts and explaining in detail what a player did before missing an opportunity.
Liverpool expectations:
Improve team performance across the board
: Sloter is expected to not only activate Nunez's talent, but also help other players to improve their overall performance and bring more victories to Liverpool.
Long-term development
: Liverpool are hoping that Slotter will be able to bring long term development to the team and consolidate the team's competitiveness in the Premier League and Europe.
