Pincus said, "I would be remiss if I didn't mention the possibility of Chris Paul. There's a good chance he could be traded or cut by the Warriors. He and LeBron James are obviously close. The Lakers signing Paul is a possibility. This makes a lot of sense to me. Would Paul go for a base salary? I don't know. I don't want to say he's cheap for the Lakers, but in the absence of a better offer, I could see it."
Contractual situation
Chris Paul currently has one year left on his contract with the Golden State Warriors, with a salary of $30 million for the 2024-25 season, but it's a non-guaranteed contract. That means the Warriors have the option to trade or cut him in the offseason to free up salary space.
