Wijnaldum
The case for being named in the preliminary Europa League squad. He said Wijnaldum could still play an important role in the national team despite the fact that he is currently playing for Saudi club Dammam Synergy and has left the top flight.
Wijnaldum's performance
Wijnaldum, 33, has made 29 appearances for the Dammam collaboration this season, contributing seven goals and six assists. Despite no longer playing in Europe's top leagues, his performances are still notable enough to be included in the Dutch team's preliminary Euro squad.
Korman's view
Asked if Wijnaldum can still play his old role with the national team, Koeman affirmed, "He can still do that." Koeman noted that Wijnaldum and Depay have had an excellent partnership in the past, with the pair having been involved in 34 of the team's 55 goals.
The case of Depay
Koeman also spoke about Depay's situation, "You are talking about four years ago and unfortunately Depay has had a lot of injuries in the last season and a half, but I believe the two can still play the same role." He is confident in Depay's ability and believes that his combination with Wijnaldum can still help the team in future games.
Confirmation of the final list
On whether Wijnaldum will make the final list for the Europa League, Koeman made it clear: "Yes." He believes that Wijnaldum doesn't need to prove himself any more and will definitely have a place in the final list.
