Chelsea
Announcing the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino, Sky Sports chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol has revealed several potential
new-style commander-in-chief
Candidates.
Kaveh Solhekol mentions in his report that Chelsea are considering the following coaches as successors to Mauricio Pochettino:
Kieran McKenna
(Ipswich skipper)
Enzo Maresca
(Leicester City manager)
Sebastian Hernández
(Stuttgart manager)
Michel or Mitchell (name)
(Girona manager)
Kaveh Solhekol noted that Chelsea did not immediately engage in conversations with other coaches after the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, but instead wanted to hire a dynamic coach to work within a structure that had stabilized. The Chelsea management is hoping that the new manager will bring fresh energy and a modern soccer philosophy to help the team get back to the top.
Chelsea have made it clear that they will not rehire Tuchel, Mourinho or Conte, who have coached the team before. These coaches have had successful careers at Chelsea, but the club is looking for a new direction and breakthrough in the selection of a new manager.
