Number of appearances

: 120 times

score a goal

: 1 goal

assist

: 3 times

(honorable) reputation

: 1 Serie A title

Kjaer expressed his feelings and gratitude to Milan as he announced his departure:

"For months I've felt it was time to call it a day. I've achieved good things in these four years, but I think I could have done more. You have to know how to take the pressure and have the right mindset. With a solid team you can do a lot even if the quality isn't there, it's the mentality that counts. In terms of Milan's budget over four years, there are very few teams in Europe that have done what we did."

He also gave special thanks to the Milan management and fans who have supported him throughout his career: "When I first came to Italy I was only 19 years old, Maldini and Massara brought me here during a difficult period to make an impact on the youngsters and grow the team, and I did my job. I have divided my future into three parts. This week is my last game at San Siro and I will still be wearing the Milan shirt. Then comes the Euro tour with Denmark, which is always very special. After that, I have to find somewhere where I can continue playing soccer. The most important thing is this week, I thank everyone and in the future, when I'm done playing, I think I'll return to Milan to live with my family because Milan is our home."
