May 24 (Bloomberg) - According to Spanish media outlet Marca, the
Barcelona
Next season's head coach will start with
Harvey or Harvey (name)
cap (a poem)
Frick
Two of them were selected and all others have been ruled out.
According to Marca, Barcelona will decide next week whether to keep Xavi on or have Frick take over the team. Despite media claims that Barcelona have reached an agreement with Frick on coaching for next season, Marca says that Barcelona sporting director Deco only had a phone call with Frick on Wednesday and no official meeting.
Frick assured Deco over the phone that he has not reached an agreement with Chelsea. Deco explained the club's current situation, saying that the final decision will be made after the last round of La Liga. Frick understands this and says that he is willing to wait for Barcelona's decision if Xavi ends up leaving.
Barcelona are supposed to have an internal meeting next Monday to clarify Xavi's future. The club have yet to schedule that meeting and in the meantime, Deco continues to work with Xavi in preparation for next season and they are in daily contact.
Barcelona president Laporta will make the final decision. At first he was ready to sack Xavi, but some of his collaborators were skeptical. He may change his mind next week, and no one knows for sure if Xavi will remain in charge of Barcelona.
