In an interview with L'Equipe, he confirmed that he will quit the French national team after Euro 2024.
Giroud said in the interview, "When you make a choice like this (to join the USL), it's also about being able to enjoy life with your family more. We live at 200 miles per hour and don't have a lot of time for our family. Honestly, this is going to be my first time in
French team
of the last tournament. Obviously I will miss it, but I think my career with France will end after the Euros and we have to make way for the youngsters."
Giroud is 37 years old and has been a key member of the team since making his debut for France on November 11, 2011 against the United States. To date, he has made 131 appearances for France, scoring 57 goals and 16 assists, making him the all-time leading scorer for the French team.
