    Sassuolo was the first to get into the game when the match started. Scaramacca scored a goal in the 6th minute of the game to help Sassuolo get off to a dream start, taking a 1-0 lead. After taking the lead, Sassuolo didn't ride the momentum, instead opting to play it safe, tightening up their defense while being unrelenting on the offensive side of the ball. No matter how much Udinese attacked in the first half, it was to no avail, as Sassuolo held on for a 1-0 halftime win with an early opening goal.

    After the second half resumed, the two teams started the match in a stalemate, with each other attacking and defending, but were unable to break the stalemate. In the 41st minute of the match, De Freire's direct kick near the center circle found his teammate in the penalty area, who made some adjustments to complete the goal, Sassuolo once again took a 1-0 lead.

    However, Udinese did not give up. In the 44th minute, Pereira broke through on the right and sent an inverted triangular pass to an unmarked Tovan in the middle of the field, and Udinese equalized the score at 1-1. After the draw, neither team was able to score again in the rest of the match, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
