In the 51st minute, Cambiasso fired a shot from a small angle near the baseline that was deflected by the goalkeeper. Chiesa then forced a shot from inside the box, but it was blocked by a defender. Juventus' performance on the attacking end remained unsatisfactory.
The game went into extra time with Juventus at risk of a shutout. In the 93rd minute, Gondozzi picked out a cross from the left in front of the goal and Marusic headed it in to complete the shutout. The goal put Juventus on the ropes, eventually losing 0-1.
