Lazio hosted Juventus in the 30th round of Serie A on March 31st. Juventus was passive in the whole game, and finally lost 0-1 by Marusic in the extra time. In the last 9 rounds of matches, Juventus only got 1 win, not a good performance.
In the first half, both teams tried to break the deadlock but were unsuccessful. Juventus failed to capitalize on a number of attacking chances, while Lazio failed to create enough threats. In the 5th minute, Kamada's shot from the top of the box went over the crossbar, which was one of the closer chances to score in the first half. Juventus then won a set piece on the left side of the field, Chiesa crossed the ball into the penalty area and Bremer's header went wide of the near post. The two sides exchanged goals at the end of the first half, keeping the score at 0-0.
Into the second half, Juventus made personnel changes in an attempt to change the situation on the field. However, Lazio showed a strong desire to attack in the beginning of the second half. In the 51st minute, Cambiasso fired a shot from a small angle near the baseline that was deflected by the goalkeeper. Chiesa then forced a shot from inside the box, but it was blocked by a defender. Juventus' performance on the attacking end remained unsatisfactory.
The game went into extra time with Juventus at risk of a shutout. In the 93rd minute, Gondozzi picked out a cross from the left in front of the goal and Marusic headed it in to complete the shutout. The goal put Juventus on the ropes, eventually losing 0-1.
