International Gakpo recently spoke to Dutch media outlet Voetbal International about his experiences growing up in the Premier League and his expectations for the upcoming Europa League.
In an interview, Gakpo revealed that his main position in the national team will remain the left winger. He said, "As far as I know, I should focus on the left winger position. I spoke briefly about this with the national team coach a few months ago and until now I haven't heard anything about playing any other position."
On the national team's tactical system, Gakpo said, "We will see what kind of tactical system the national team coaching staff uses when the time comes. In the World Cup, I played as a double striker, a number ten or a striker, and in the three striker formation, I usually operate on the left."

Gakpo also played in the midfield position in the match due to an injury crisis. On this, he said, "At that time we had an injury crisis and some players could play in one or two positions. For the coach, it often depends on who is available and how best to fill the gaps. For me, it means I have to play different positions. Positional changes are quite difficult, but ultimately they make you a better player. The tricky thing is that you have to keep adjusting yourself and I try to adapt as much as I can, sometimes it goes well and sometimes it doesn't, these are all part of the job."
Gakpo said that he has grown the most in England in terms of confrontation and physicality. He said, "Especially in the aspect of confrontation, the content of the training, the muscle mass, the speed, the intensity: I'm not very interested in the numbers, but I see a big difference in myself compared to when I was at Eindhoven. Especially the number of high-intensity runs, the growth now physically and in terms of confrontation, also helps me to do better in the Dutch team."
Gakpo's experience growing up in the English Premier League has made him more confident in the face of stiff competition and has given him a lot to look forward to in the upcoming Europa League. As an important member of the Dutch team, Gakpo hopes to contribute to the team's success in the Europa League through his hard work and progress.
