redundancies
.. The club is giving employees seven days to consider whether to continue working at the club and to decide by June 5 whether to accept the offer of voluntary separation.
The proposed layoffs involve all non-football staff except for scouts and team-related employees, including those at the Carrington base. Some employees who wished to remain anonymous said the action was more of a voluntary layoff program.
Manchester United FC is currently undergoing a massive restructuring and cost-cutting exercise led by Sir Ratcliffe. Despite the club's previous good overall revenue performance, it still made a loss of £42 million. Sir Ratcliffe is looking to make more cost savings by cutting staff numbers so that the team can better cope with financial scrutiny from the Premier League and UEFA.
The redundancy plan is undoubtedly a major step in the restructuring process of Manchester United FC, aimed at optimizing the club's operating costs and providing a more stable financial base for the team in the future. The move will have a significant impact on the club's non-football staff, with employees set to decide whether they want to stay or go in the coming days.
