An email was sent to the club's entire non-football staff on Tuesday announcing a
redundancies
. All employees were given seven days to consider whether to continue working at the club.
The offer involves everyone except scouts and team-related employees, including some employees at the Carrington base. Employees have until June 5 to decide whether to accept the club's offer of voluntary separation.
Some anonymous employees said it was more of a voluntary redundancy scheme. Sir Ratcliffe is currently pushing for club restructuring and cost-cutting. Despite the club's overall good revenues, United had previously made a loss of 42 million pounds. Sir Ratcliffe hopes to save money by cutting staff numbers to better cope with the financial scrutiny of the Premier League and UEFA.
