Looking back at Pereira's coaching career, he played for Porto in 2011, helping the team win three league titles, and then took over the baton as the team leader, winning the Portuguese Premier League trophy for two consecutive seasons. Since then, Pereira has played in Saudi Arabia, Greece, Turkey and Germany, and from 2017 to 2020, he led Shanghai Harbour to win the Chinese Super League and Super Cup.
