Los Angeles Lakers
Hall of Famer James Worthy appeared on the program "The Dan Patrick Show" to talk about the
brownie (pastry) (loanword)
of draft prospects.
On the show, host Dan Patrick asked, "The Pelicans rejected the Lakers' No. 17 pick this year, do you think it's possible for the Lakers to draft Brownie with that first-round pick?"
To which Worthy replied, "Yes, I think it's possible. That's the way the league is going, it's a trend. Social media, load management, there are a lot of things that have become trends."
Worthy explained further, "So I can imagine Brownie being on the Lakers or the Lakers' developmental league team, and when the Lakers are going to play a big nationally televised game, the Lakers call him back up, and then you see father and son on the same page. Brownie has a lot to prove. I think he had a great combine tryout, so let's see what happens. It's going to be a challenge for a 6-foot-1 player, but it can be done and we've seen others do it."
