According to the latest supercomputer predictions, England will end up winning Euro 2024, with France in second place and hosts Germany in third, the Mirror reports.
Three years ago, England reached the final at Wembley but eventually lost to Italy. However, there is good news for England from the experts at Opta, who after using a supercomputer to simulate the game 10,000 times, have predicted that England are most likely to win the title.
In these simulations, Germany have a 19.9% chance of winning the tournament, they have a 70% chance of reaching the quarter-finals, a 48.2% chance of advancing to the semi-finals and a 31.1% chance of reaching the final. France are considered England's strongest rivals and they have a 19.1% chance of winning the Euros for the first time since 2000. Hosts Germany are in third place and they have a 12.4% chance of winning the trophy. Defending champions Italy have little hope of winning this time around, with only a 5% chance of winning the trophy again.
Aside from the potential winners, the other hosts, Scotland, have a 1% chance of winning the trophy and a 23.5% chance of qualifying from the group. Georgia are at the bottom of the table and their prospects of progressing are not good. As a first-time Europa League participant, Georgia has a 0.1% chance of winning the trophy and an 8.3% chance of reaching the knockout rounds.
