Born in 2002, Fabio Silva came from Porto's youth training, and in the summer of 2020, he joined Wolves with a transfer fee of 40 million euros, which set a record for the most expensive reinforcement in Wolves' history. However, Fabio Silva's performance at Wolves was poor and he was subsequently loaned out to teams such as Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Rangers.

Fabio Silva said in an interview, "I knew at the time that it wasn't the right time to move, I didn't want to join Wolves, I wanted to stay at Porto for another year or two. But I was almost forced to move, the club and the agent (Mendes) told me that if I didn't leave they would let me play with the reserves. If I didn't transfer I wouldn't be able to help the club because they were short of money ...... I had no possibility of refusing. I was 18 years old and had just played my first professional season."

He continued, "I had other offers, but at the time it was all about getting me to sign for Wolves. There were more people involved in that transfer who paid more money and what happens behind the scenes in soccer is something you can't control. Everyone benefited from that transfer, except me."

Finally, Fabio Silva said, "Now that I want to leave Wolves, we both agree that we must try to find the best solution. I have told my agent that I want to play in Spain and I think my style of play is perfect for La Liga."
