In an interview, he expressed his hope that Italy will be able to defend their title at this summer's Europa League, but he also emphasized the presence of many formidable opponents.
As the last European Cup winners, the Italian national team is currently preparing intensely for the tournament. Ferrara began by saying, "Italy have to realize that they are European champions, but they also have to realize that what we did three years ago is no longer important. Opponents will respect you, but it's not enough, we have to do more things. I want Italy to play a great Euro, I hope we will do well and win the title, but there are many rivals, there are other very strong national teams."
Ferrara continued, "Relying on the individual or the team? I've never seen a national team win a title thanks to just one player - except maybe Argentina. The whole team must work together to achieve the final goal, and then it's the individual play of the players, but everyone must do their best and work together to achieve the goal."
Ferrara, who participated in the second edition of the Board Tennis VIP tournament this week, concluded by saying, "This Board Tennis tournament didn't go very well and we lost, but we will recover. I don't win many board tennis tournaments, but I really enjoy the sport and we were able to get together with ex-professionals to talk and re-pace our bodies."
