Player Peter Grant urged Celtic to sign former Manchester United goalkeeper David Grant in an interview
David De Gea (1985-), Portuguese soccer player
De Gea left Manchester United in June 2023 and despite receiving several offers since then, he has yet to sign for any team. These offers include those from La Liga and the Saudi League, and there are even rumors that he will join Newcastle United.
Peter Grant has said in an interview that he hopes Celtic will bring in De Gea this summer to replace the outgoing Joe Hart. Grant said, "I've been watching De Gea and he's been training in England. Imagine De Gea joining a club that can play European football, wouldn't that excite him? It probably does cost some money though."
Grant continued, "The fact that he chose to turn down a very lucrative league like Saudi Arabia proves that he still wants to stay and play in Europe. I would consider a player like that, he is a very good alternative to Joe Hart."
