Having conceded a total of 68 goals in all competitions, the weakness in the back line forced them to look for real reinforcements in the transfer market. The departures of Savic, Paulista and Hermoso have left Atletico in need of stronger defensive players, and Incapié has become their target.
Incapierre's current détournement price is €40 million and his contract with Leverkusen runs until 2027. Incapierre has been in excellent form for Leverkusen this season, playing 2,614 minutes in 43 games, showing his great strength and speed, especially in the three centre-back system, where he is widely recognized for his partnership with Ta and Tapsoba, Atletico Madrid manager Roberto Simeone's favourite tactical system.
Although Liverpool and Chelsea have also shown interest in Incapié, Atletico Madrid are one of the most attractive options for him. Inkapiye's agent Manuel Serra said on Teradeportes: "Some clubs have expressed interest because he is a very promising player and many big teams have seen that. Incapierre's idea is to go to a bigger team than Leverkusen. We are talking to a lot of people."
