Villarreal (soccer team)

The soccer club announced through official channels that Spanish midfielder

Capoue (French town)

has officially left the team. The 33-year-old played three and a half seasons for the Yellow Submarine since joining in January 2021, during which time his performances earned widespread praise from fans and teammates alike.

Capoue moved to Villarreal in January 2021 from English Premier League side Watford, bringing a wealth of experience and stability to the team's midfield. Under his guidance, Villarreal went all the way in the 2020-2021 Europa League season, eventually winning the first UEFA Cup in the team's history with a victory over Manchester United in the final. Capoue played a key role throughout the tournament, and his leadership and game intelligence were instrumental in the team's win.

In addition to his outstanding performance in Europe, Capoue has been an integral part of Villarreal in La Liga. He played 40 games for the team this season, and although he didn't score many goals, he made a significant contribution to the team with his organizational and defensive work in the midfield. His 2 assists and 2 goals are not the main source of the team's offense, but his runs and passing choices on the field show his understanding of the game and execution of the team's tactics.

Capoue's departure is a major personnel change for Villarreal and his experience and leadership will be missed by the team. However, soccer is an ever-changing sport and player turnover is the norm. Capoue's time at Villarreal may be over, but the memories and accomplishments he left behind will always be remembered in the hearts of the fans.

For Capoue personally, this departure also marks a turning point in his career. He will start a new journey and look for new challenges. We wish Capoue all the best in his future soccer career and thank him for his contribution to Villarreal.
