Three Chinese Super League (CSL) teams played in the second round of the 2022/23 AFC Champions League group stage without a win. Shandong Taishan, Wuhan Sanzhen and Zhejiang all suffered defeats.

Shandong Taishan hosted Yokohama Mariners and had no choice but to lose 0-1, with their opponents cleverly working together in the first half to break through first and take the three points away from home. Taishan is currently third in the group with one win and one loss.

Wuhan Three Town were away to Pohang Ironmen and Aziz's shot opened the record for the Chinese Super League champions, but Pohang Ironmen quickly equalized. Xie Pengfei left the game due to a red card, but scored twice to win 3-1 against the run of play. Three Town are in third place in the group with a draw and a loss, and are about to host Hanoi, Vietnam.

Zhejiang hosted Melbourne of the Australian Premier League and were hit hard in the opening match. Caputo scored a header and Lennardo equalized, but Zhejiang lost 1-2 and suffered back-to-back defeats in the group stage.
