According to Italian media outlet Pazzi di Fanta, the participation in Euro 2024
clubs
will receive a bonus from UEFA. This bonus will be distributed based on three main factors: the number of players participating, the number of days the players stay in the final round, and FIFA's classification of the club's training costs.
There are three levels of bonus classification:
Category I: €10,000 per player per day Category II: €6,670 per player per day Category III: €3,330 per player per day
UEFA will allocate a total of €140 million to the clubs of the participating players during this year's Euros.
In the case of FC Barcelona, they have 10 players who will participate in the Europa League, including Lewandowski, Conde, Christensen, De Jong, ter Stegen, Gündoğan, Pedri, Ferran, Yamal and Kubasi. Barcelona are guaranteed a €450,000 bonus until the end of the group stage. However, this figure could increase depending on how well the players perform and how long they stay in the tournament.
This prize money mechanism not only incentivizes clubs to support their players, but also provides a level of financial security that allows participating clubs to benefit. The final amount of prize money will become clearer as the tournament progresses.
