Negotiations over the termination of the contract are expected to result in compensation amounting to 30 million euros. Gallardo took over the team in November last year, signing an 18-month contract, however his tenure has not lived up to the club's expectations, with Jeddah United finishing fifth in the Saudi league.
Now, Jeddah United seeks to reach an agreement with Gallardo and his coaching team for the early termination of their contract for a fee of €30 million. The payment of this money will cover compensation for Gallardo as well as his coaching staff.
Gallardo previously coached Argentine giants River Plate, during which time he won 14 trophies, demonstrating his coaching prowess and potential. However, after leaving for Jeddah United, rumors of tension between Gallardo and the team's big name, Benzema, coupled with the team's failure to live up to expectations seems to have exacerbated the conflict between the club and him.
This move by Jeddah United shows that they are looking for a new manager to improve the team's performance, even though the cost of 30 million euros is quite heavy.
