Told by top brass that he will stay on. According to the Daily Telegraph today, the United players had expected Ten Hahn to be sacked, and most of them were surprised that he stayed on, but were also happy that the managerial position had finally been finalized.

The Telegraph notes that United players only learned of the club's decision to keep Tenhave in charge after seeing news about Tenhave's retention on Tuesday night.

Last week, it was widely believed among United players that Ten Hahn would leave the club. Most of them were in training camps with their respective national teams and were unable to get the inside scoop on the club in time. A source told the Telegraph, "The players' reaction to the news was mostly one of surprise, they really didn't know what was going on."

The Manchester United club has been criticized over the past week for taking too long to make a decision on the departure or retention of Ten Hahn. Some rumors claimed that United were waiting for Southgate's decision, but sources denied the claims. Currently, Manchester United FC have begun talks with Ten Hahn over a contract extension.
