After the notice, journalist Xu Zexin took to social media to express his opinion that Beijing Workers' Stadium (Gongti) may remain unattached as the home of the national soccer team.
Xu Zexin wrote on social media, "Today, the Football Association solicited five home stadiums to host the National Football League's 18-team tournament. It can be predicted that the football associations and sports bureaus of major provinces and cities are going to coax the hosting rights. The only pity is that Beijing Gongti is almost out of the picture again."
