Women's Asian Football Championship

The format of the league is as follows: China will host the group stage matches of the final phase. A total of 22 teams will participate in the Women's AFC Champions League with the following schedule:

Advance directly to the final stage:

According to the latest edition of the Women's World Soccer Rankings, the top 8 league teams advance directly to the final stage of the tournament. Representing China is the 2023 Women's Super League champion Wuhan Jiangda Women's Football Team.

Qualifying stage:

Teams from leagues 9-22 will compete in the qualifying rounds for 4 spots to advance to the main round. The 14 teams will be divided into four groups (two groups of four teams and two groups of three teams), with the top group advancing to the main round. The qualifiers will be played from August 25-31 and will be hosted by Jordan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

Group stage:

The 12 teams advancing to the main round will play group matches from October 6-12, divided into 3 groups of 4 teams each. The top two teams from each group and the two best third-place finishers advance to the Round of 8. China and Vietnam will each host one group, with the other group stage host to be decided after the July 18 draw.

Knockout stage:

The quarter-finals will be played on March 22 and 23 next year, with the pairings decided by draw, single-game tie-breakers and the higher-ranked team playing at home. The semifinals and finals will be played from May 21 to 24 next year, all of which will be decided by a single match.

Bonus arrangements:

According to official information from the AFC, each team in the group stage will receive at least $100,000 and additional prizes based on their final standings. The winner will be expected to receive at least $1.3 million.

The tournament not only provides a platform for Asian women's soccer teams to showcase their strengths, but also offers generous prize money incentives for the participating teams.
