In a battle across time zones, the Grasshopper Women's Football Team played a 2-2 match against the St. Gallen Women's Football Team in the seventh round of the Swiss Women's Super League at dawn on October 30th. China's star Zhang Linyan scored a crucial goal for Grasshoppers, her fifth goal in her overseas campaign.
Since joining the Swiss Grasshopper Women's soccer team, Zhang Linyan has shown great adaptability. Before entering this round of matches, she has played seven matches for Grasshoppers in the league and cup, making six starts and delivering four goals and six assists.
Zhang Linyan made her debut again against St. Gallen Women's Football. The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute, but Zhang Linyan equalized in the 16th minute with a textbook inside shot to bring the goal tally up to five. In the second half, Grasshoppers took the lead, only to see St. Gallen equalize in the 74th minute, leaving the match tied at 2-2.
In addition to Zhang Linyan's goal, the Chinese women's soccer players who stayed in China also shone in their respective battlegrounds: in the sixth round of the French Women's Ligue 1, Li Mengwen started for the third consecutive game as a starter for Paris Saint-Germain, playing 57 minutes and helping her team beat Reims Women's Soccer Team 2-0; Madrid CFF beat Tenerife 2-0 at home, with Tang Jiali coming on as a substitute in the 88th minute; and in the Russian women's soccer super In the finale of the Russian Women's Super League, Lokomotiv Moscow Women's Football Team beat Zenit Women's Football Team 1-0 on the road to win the third place, Yang Shuhui started for the second consecutive game and was substituted in the 90th minute.
