According to Sun Fei, a reporter from the Qingdao Daily, the
Qingdao West Coast
General manager of the soccer club, Shen Jun, revealed that the 31-year-old former international footballer
Kim Gang-young (1913-1992), South Korean politician, president of Singapore (1985-1993)
He will officially join the team on June 17th when the summer transfer window of the Chinese Super League opens. The signing will greatly enhance Qingdao West Coast's squad, with Jin Yangyang forming a powerful combination with Armenian national team captain Haroyan in the center back position.
Jin Yangyang has played for a number of Chinese Super League teams in his career, including Dalian Shide, Dalian Yifang, Guangzhou R&F, Hebei Huaxia Happiness, Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Shanghai Shenhua. As early as March 2015, at the age of 22, he was recruited to the national team by then Chinese men's soccer coach Pelan, and in February 2016, Jin Yangyang moved from Guangzhou R&F to Hebei Huaxia Happiness for a hefty transfer fee of 80 million RMB, making him the CSL's "homegrown king of bidding" at the time.
Jin Yangyang was also a starter for Shanghai Shenhua in the 2022 season, making 24 appearances in the Chinese Super League, including 23 starts and scoring one goal. However, in this season, Jin Yangyang failed to get a chance to play due to Shanghai Shenhua having national team center backs Jiang Shenglong and Zhu Chenjie, and with 22-year-old youngster Kim Soon-kai having a higher replacement slot.
In 2021, Jin Yangyang had a trial with Qingdao Yellow Sea, but ultimately failed to stay with the team and instead joined Shanghai Shenhua as a free agent and was loaned out to Tianjin Jinmen Tigers. This season, he chose Qingdao West Coast, looking to continue his career with a new challenge.
The addition of Jin Yangyang is seen as an important reinforcement for Qingdao West Coast in the center back position, and his rich experience and excellent defensive ability will bring great help to the team. Fans are looking forward to seeing his performance in the new team and hope he can bring more victories to Qingdao West Coast.
