BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- National football team boss Li Xiaopeng may step down from his post, while the players prefer hiring foreign coaches, according to a disclosure by Beiqing Sports. Among them, former Suning coach Ola Royu's name was mentioned by the FA. In this regard, media person Wang Xiaorui revealed that Olaroyu is currently busy with his existing work, and there will be no changes in the short term.
The possibility of Ola Royo has been discussed within the FA, but nothing has been finalized in the short term. In the selection process, the FA not only has to consider the coaching ability, resume and experience of the candidates, but also the cost factor. Obviously, the FA will not hire top names like Lippi and Hiddink at a high price like in the past, but will pay more attention to the coach's professional attitude, practicality and cost-effectiveness.
Wang Xiaorui said on his personal social media that Olaroyu is currently earning a whopping US$5 million a year, while his work at Sharjah FC is well underway, having just signed Barcelona star Pjanic last week, and more recently started to chase Wu Lei's old teammates De Tomas and Oscar. These are signs that Sharjah FC is going all out to win the UAE Premier League title and the Cup (having reached the final last season) in the new season.
Media personality Song Chengliang replied to Wang Xiaorui's comments, to which Wang responded that his original article read, "It's not likely that there will be a result in the short term."
In the 2018 season, Romanian Olaroiu began coaching Jiangsu Suning and led the team to the Chinese Super League title in the 2020 season. In 2021, Olaroiu was released from his contract with the team after Jiangsu was disbanded. Last November, Sharjah Football Club announced Olaolu as the team's head coach.
