On August 20, the Mauritanian U15 national team opted out of the ongoing West African U15 Boys' Football Championship due to doubts about the actual age of their opponents.
Mauritania U15 suffered a 0-6 defeat against Sierra Leone U15, however the significant size difference between the two players made the Mauritanian team skeptical about the authenticity of the age of their opponents' players.
