On August 17, Wuhan Three Town beat Henan Songshan Longmen 3-0 in a fierce match to secure a strong position at the top of the Chinese Super League table. After the match, team manager Pedro reviewed the game in a press conference.

The Story Behind the Victory

Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, I would like to dedicate this victory to the Wuhan fans who were on the field to cheer for them, their hard work was an integral part of this victory. Secondly, I would like to express my gratitude to the players who gave their best on the field. It was a hard fought game with both sides showing their highlights. Our first 15 minutes were very good and we created a lot of chances, which is the beauty of soccer. I'm very excited, it was a tough game. In the second half, facing the strong pressure from Henan, I reminded the team during the halftime break to prepare for the game and pass the ball more to recover their energy. The players followed my tactics and I would like to thank them.

On team temperament and the U23 policy

Before the game, I mentioned that Henan is a strong team that should not be underestimated, and there were periods in the regular season when both teams played well. We stuck to our task. Although there were periods in the game when we were passive, we eventually resisted the pressure and mastered the rhythm of the game. Regarding the U23 policy, I know about the reduction policy, but I always put the interests of the team first, and if Xu Haoyang meets the requirements, I will send him to play regardless of his age. I hope more young soccer talents will emerge in China.

Does the score truly reflect strength?

The score in a soccer match does not fully reflect the real strength of the two teams. We also missed some scoring chances, and Henan also had many chances. If we face each other again next week, the score may be different. The score is just one side of the strength.
