比赛的悬念在下半场第56分钟得以解开，裴帅意外自摆乌龙，紧接着在第71分钟，恩迪亚耶的头球攻门虽击中立柱，但并未阻止他随后完成内切破门，为上海海港锁定胜局。赛后，刘闻超在微博上感慨：“比赛进行时，那个男人归来，或许命运也在向他招手？”
鉴于当前的“7+3”入境隔离规定，一切顺利的话，武磊预计将在8月26日左右解除隔离，届时他有望在9月初重返赛场，代表上海海港在中超联赛中亮相。据赛程显示，武磊回归海港队后的首战可能是9月3日客场挑战河南嵩山龙门，亦或是9月9日主场迎战广州城。
