On August 2, Louisville Athletics, the powerhouse of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), announced in high profile that it had signed a contract with China's renowned women's soccer star Wang Frost, marking the third overseas journey that Wang Frost is about to embark on.
Wang Frost, born on January 23, 1995 in Wuhan, is a flexible player who can play both in midfield and as a striker, and currently plays for the Wuhan Chegu Jiangda Women's Football Club. Her international career began in July 2013, when she joined TOTO Women's Football Club in Chungbuk, South Korea, and helped the team win the second place in the league in just half a year.
After returning to China, Wang Frost joined the Wuhan Chedujiang University women's soccer team in 2014 and went on loan to Dalian Quanjian women's soccer team in January 2016.In February 2018, she returned to Wuhan Chedujiang University. In September of the same year, Wang Frost traveled to France to join Paris Saint-Germain Women's Soccer and finished second in Ligue 1 with the team in the 2018-19 season. However, in July 2019, Wang Frost terminated her contract with Paris Saint-Germain and returned to her hometown to continue playing for Wuhan Women's Football.
On the national team stage, Wang Frost's performances have been equally dazzling: she made her debut for the national junior team in 2006; she made her debut for the Chinese women's soccer team in 2013; she traveled with the team to the Women's World Cup in 2015; and she represented the Chinese women's soccer team at the Rio Olympics in 2016. In terms of personal honors, Wang Frost won the title of Miss Football Asia in 2018 and has won the China Women's Golden Ball Award four times.
