On July 6, the official announcement of the Central League announced that Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) had forfeited the first and second rounds of the season for some reasons, which aroused widespread concern. In this regard, Beijing Institute of Technology Football Club quickly made an official response.

The organizing committee made it clear in a statement on the 6th that due to the epidemic, the Beijing Polytechnic team was unable to arrive at the tournament on time and thus could not participate in the first two rounds of the league. In view of the season arrangement, a make-up game is no longer possible. In order to maintain the order of the league, after consulting with the teams, according to the 2022 Chinese football

national soccer team

Article 28 of Chapter 4 of the Regulations of the First Division League of the Association decided to treat this round of matches of Beijing Institute of Technology as forfeits.

Facing the waiver treatment, Beijing Polytechnic Football Club spoke out today:

Recently, the media reported that the club's failure to arrive at the tournament on time resulted in the disqualification of the league. In this regard, our club strongly denies this result for the following reasons:

I. Since the outbreak of the epidemic on campus on May 18, according to the Beijing Epidemic Prevention and Control Policy, the school has been closed for management, and all teachers and students are unable to enter or leave.

II. During the epidemic, the club communicated with the management several times to seek the possibility of postponing the trip to the tournament area and measures to prevent the epidemic upon arrival, but never received a clear answer. During this period, the coaching staff and players conducted closed training on campus and completed nearly 20 nucleic acid tests, all of which were negative.

III. On 10 June, with the assistance of the competition area, the team travelled to the Nanjing competition area hotel in a point-to-point closed-loop manner and was quarantined for seven days in accordance with local epidemic prevention requirements.

IV. Our club had applied to participate in the second round of the match against Jiangxi, but was rejected by the district on the grounds of epidemic prevention.

V. In the fourth phase of last season, a club was denied entry due to the experience of the epidemic risk zone, but the management eventually adjusted the schedule to ensure the full participation of the teams involved in the epidemic.

In summary, as a soccer club of a well-known university in China, we respect and understand the epidemic prevention regulations of the local and the competition area, and are willing to cooperate fully. At the same time, as a youth team in the professional league, we cherish every exercise opportunity and look forward to showing our competitive strength on the field.

Therefore, our club will insist on the request to complete the first and second rounds of this season's Central League through a bye, and we look forward to the prudent consideration of the relevant management authorities.
