In an interview on May 10 in Beijing, Xu Xin talked about the 1-3 defeat suffered by the national football team in the Top 12 tournament. He said that if we can compete with Vietnam again, we are confident that we will perform even better than last time, however, it is still unknown whether we can win against our opponents.
Xu Xin further elaborated, "Vietnam's improvement in recent years is obvious to all and there is no need for me to say more. We were under tremendous psychological pressure in the second match against them. Vietnam may be eager to prove themselves to us, and even if they can't win, they have no regrets.
Before the match, all of us were thinking that we could not lose and could not make any mistakes. However, the reality was that we were not at a level where we could surely win against our opponents, and this situation multiplied the pressure on us, which in turn affected our performance.
If we can play another game against Vietnam, we will undoubtedly play better than last time, but it is still unknown whether we can secure the victory. In fact, Vietnam is not a weak team. They have shown excellent technical and tactical skills in many matches, and their mentality has been adjusted quite well. As long as they can play to their strengths, even if they lose, it doesn't matter.
