Just concluded the Dubai Cup, China's U23 national football team's color is slightly bleak, with only one win and two losses, came in fourth place. However, this group of young players are currently in Haikou strict isolation and training, and strive to meet the next challenge in the best condition.

During the Dubai Cup, the U23 national football team scored four goals but also allowed six, marking the team's first official tournament since its formation more than two years ago. Nonetheless, U23 assistant coach and former international footballer Wan Houliang said in a post-match interview that he saw a spark of hope in this team.

"They showed an unyielding spirit that makes me expect a lot from this team. The team is now full of fighting spirit, and of course, we can feel the gap between us and our opponents. By summarizing the problems, we learned the playing styles of different opponents, which is very helpful for us." Wan Houliang said so.

In addition, Wan Houliang also emphasized that young players should be brave enough to go out and stay overseas: "Only by going out can we see our own shortcomings, and there are many places we need to learn and improve. Moreover, going out to learn English and the local language will also be of great help to the future development of individuals."

On April 3, the U23 national football team returned to China and underwent a 21-day isolation in Haikou while shutting down training to fully prepare for the upcoming East Asian Cup and Hangzhou Asian Games. Wan Houliang said the team made full use of their time during the quarantine and prepared well.
