On April Fool's Day, Qingdao Hainiu Football Club, a promoted team in the Central League, welcomed its first foreign aid signing of the season. Former Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic team's foreign aid Onuebu officially joined Hainiu and will play for the team in the 2022 season of the Central League.
Manatee Football Club has started its foreign aid introduction program early in preparation for the upcoming Central League season. After layers of screening, Onuebu stood out. Born in 1986, he has played for many teams in the German professional league, including Fürth, Sandhausen, Duisburg, etc. In 2020, Onuebu landed in China and played for Xinjiang Tianshan Snow Leopard and Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic successively. In the last season, the 1.91-meter tall player played 35 matches for Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic and scored 21 goals, just one goal behind top scorer Mu Xiekui, who helped Zhejiang Greentown reach the Super League. With his contract with Shaanxi expiring, Onuebu moved to Hainiu as a free agent.
Upon completion of the signing ceremony, Onuebu expressed his joy through a video, "I am very happy to be joining Manatee FC. I'm eager to join the training and games and work hard to achieve my goals, it's an honor for me. I know that Qingdao is a beautiful city and the Manatees have a rich history, and I hope to achieve my goals for this season with the team. It is an honor to be part of this great team and I look forward to seeing you all in the near future."
Currently, Onuebu is in Frankfurt, Germany, and has begun processing procedures to come to China. If all goes well, he is expected to arrive in China in mid-April and be quarantined in accordance with the epidemic prevention policy.
