北京时间3月22日，德国转会市场的最新消息传来，广州队中场核心廖力生正式转会至山东泰山队。
廖力生，28岁的当打之年，自2013年起便效力于广州恒大。在上赛季，他代表广州队出战17场，贡献1球2助攻，并有21次关键传球，同时在防守端贡献了26次抢断、27次阻截和16次解围。
2021年中超联赛第三阶段开战前，廖力生合同到期，但中超联赛延期并跨年进行，广州队与他签署了短期协议，确保他能够完成整个赛季。在最后8轮比赛中，廖力生场场打满全场，表现抢眼，迅速成为了转会市场的香饽饽。他不仅能够胜任后腰、前腰、右前卫等多个位置，而且正值28岁巅峰期。
赛季还未结束，已有三四家俱乐部对他展开接触，山东泰山便是其中之一。当时，泰山队更关注的是莫伊塞斯的续约问题。然而，1月18日，国脚徐新未选择续约，泰山队随即启动寻腰计划。除了廖力生，还有一位现役国脚后腰也被考虑，但考虑到他与原俱乐部的合同情况，廖力生很快成为了首选。
泰山队吸引廖力生的主要原因是其双冠王身份。据了解，泰山队虽不能提供最丰厚的待遇，但严格遵守中超新政，且球队的平台和常年稳居中超豪门地位，在中国足球环境中极具吸引力。廖力生与泰山队中的王彤、石柯、吴兴涵、刘彬彬等人曾是国奥队队友，现在又与王大雷、金敬道、段刘愚等国家队队友一同集训，磨合不成问题。而且，主教练郝伟曾在恒大时期与廖力生有过合作，对后者十分了解。
目前，廖力生正随国家队在阿联酋备战接下来的两场12强赛。
