After a cordial negotiation with Grasshoppers FC, a famous Swiss soccer team, and its player Jia Bo Yan, Shanghai Harbor FC officially announced that Jia Bo Yan has transferred to Grasshoppers to start a new chapter of his career.
Meanwhile, Jabo Diem is about to be loaned out to NK Dubrava of the Croatian second division for the rest of the season, where he will be able to get some practical experience until the end of the season.
Born in November 2003, at the age of 18, Jia Bo Yan has already shown his talent on the field. He trained at Shanghai Lucky Star and Shanghai Seaport, and in August 2020, at the age of 16 years and 275 days, he made his debut for Shanghai Seaport in the Chinese Super League, making him the third youngest player in the history of the Chinese Super League. In addition, he is an integral part of China's national youth teams at all levels.
In the 2020 Guardian list of the world's 60 most promising young soccer players, Jabo Diem stood out as the only Asian player to make the list.
Grasshoppers FC Technical Director Olofin Gana has high hopes for Jabo Diem, saying, "Jabo Diem is a talented young player with unlimited potential. We expect him to get an initial taste of European soccer through his loan experience at Dubrava to help him grow."
After Djabo Diem completes the process of obtaining a work visa, he will embark on a journey to Croatia to meet new challenges.
