. Prior to the match, captain Sashi Kumagai was interviewed by the media, revealing that the team is aiming for three consecutive titles of glory.
Sashi Kumagai said in the interview, "Since returning from the Tokyo Olympics, the team has gone through a massive roster reshuffle, which is both an opportunity and a challenge. We can't change the past, but what we can do is to keep improving ourselves to make the team more competitive on the world stage. I am willing to dedicate all my efforts to the team."
Talking about this year's Asian Cup, Sashi Kumagai firmly stated, "Our first priority is to be fully prepared to get out of the group stage and into the knockout phase. Subsequently, we will work steadily to achieve the feat of a third consecutive title, which is the goal we have set and we will leave no stone unturned to fight for it."
