After traveling overseas, a soccer fan took to Weibo to publicize screenshots of his private correspondence with Luo Guofu. In his reply, Luo Guofu revealed that although he will not be able to continue playing for Guangzhou, he plans to return to his homeland in January next year to take part in the remainder of the Top 12 campaign.
Luo Guofu has now returned to Brazil and his contract with Guangzhou has reportedly been terminated.
However, in an exclusive interview with GloboSports Brazil, Lo expressed his deep affection for China, "I am eager to stay in my country, I am a Chinese and I am doing quite well with the national team. I still have the Top 12 and the upcoming 2023 Asian Cup waiting for me, and I plan to continue to show my soccer talent in this land."
